About Us

State law created the Butler County Child Support Enforcement Agency on January 1, 1988. Originally, the agency operated under the direction of the Domestic Relations Court, but the Butler County Board of Commissioners became the appointing authority in 1994. In 2005, Cynthia Brown became the agency's executive director. Brown has a bachelor's degree in liberal arts and a master's degree in social science from Xavier University. Prior to coming to the CSEA, she served as the director of victim assistance at the Butler County Sheriff's Office, served as a victim's rights advocate, worked as an investigator for Butler County MRDD and facilitated domestic violence training.

CSEA Goals

  • Ensure children receive support from their parents

  • Encourage family responsibility

  • Reduce the cost of welfare to taxpayers

  • Cynthia Brown, Executive Director
